:contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} With the Porto Card you can, for example, travel from the airport to the city center in 30 minutes with metro line E - without an additional ticket. This means you don't have to buy an extra ticket on arrival. Trips to the surrounding area or the beach are also included.
Area of validity & duration: Valid throughout Porto and the surrounding area. Available for 1-4 days (24-96 hours), starting with the first validation. The selected duration runs from activation. Advantage: No one-way tickets or zone fares - the Porto Card is valid as a single ticket.
Practical use
- Obtain card: Available in Porto (tourist information, e.g. airport) or online in advance. You will receive two cards: the Porto Card (admissions) and an Andante Tour as a bus & train ticket.
- Activate: Validate** the ticket at the yellow validator on the first journey - this starts the validity period.
- On every journey: Hold the ticket at the validator on every boarding (even when changing trains). Ticket validators are located at metro entrances and on the bus by the driver. A green signal confirms validation.
- Inspection: Show your ticket at a ticket inspection. The staff will scan it electronically. Without a valid validation, you may be fined.
Timetable and public transport app
App "Anda": The official public transport app Anda offers route planning and real-time departure times. Available free of charge for Android and iOS.
Operating hours: Metro approx. 6:00-0:30 am, buses until 1:00 am. After that, night buses run (e.g. 3M). Weekends similar; less traffic at night.
Important lines for tourists
