The Porto Card is the official tourist card of the city of Porto, available for 24, 48, 72, or 96 hours. How it works, we explain in this section:
You can buy the Porto Card online and pick it up at the tourist information centers at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and at Porto Cathedral. Alternatively, you can buy it directly on-site at the Porto Welcome Center or the Trindade Tourism Office. It is available for 1 day (24h), 2 days (48h), 3 days (72h), or 4 days (96h), each with or without public transport.
After your arrival in Porto, pick up the Porto Card at one of the official distribution points: at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, at Porto Cathedral, at the Porto Welcome Center, or at the Trindade Tourism Office. Bring your voucher or purchase receipt and exchange it for the Porto Card.
The Porto Card is activated from the date and time indicated on the back. For public transport, you receive separate Andante Tour tickets that are activated when first validated. Important: For 2-day cards you receive two 24h tickets, for 4-day cards one 72h ticket plus one 24h ticket.
Show the Porto Card at partner institutions to receive free admission or discounts – including 5 museums for free and 50% discount on 10 monuments. With the transport option, you use metro, trams, and STCP buses unlimited. Validate your Andante Tour ticket for each journey.
There are two variants of the Porto Card: one with public transport and one without. Both are available for 1, 2, 3 or 4 days.
With public transport (most popular variant): Unlimited use of metro, STCP city buses, selected private bus lines and suburban trains (CP) in the greater Porto area. Not included are historic trams, Gaia cable car and dos Guindais funicular (but small discounts are available here).
Without public transport: Only admission discounts and free access to attractions, but no transport.
Additionally, the Porto Card offers over 150 benefits and discounts: free access to 5 museums, 50% discount on 10 monuments and up to 50% off tours, restaurants, shops and cultural activities.
The prices of the Porto Card (as of 2025) depend on validity period and variant:

Important: Children pay the same price as adults – there are no reduced children's rates. However, for groups of 20+ cards there is a 10% discount.
The Porto Card is valid for 24, 48, 72 or 96 hours (depending on the chosen duration). The time runs from the first use, as the card is only activated upon first use.
Example: If you have a 48-hour card and use it for the first time on Monday at 10 AM, it is valid until Wednesday at 10 AM.
Special feature for transport tickets:

No, the Porto Card is personalized and non-transferable. Each traveler needs their own card, as it is registered to one person upon collection.
Sharing or joint use of one card for multiple people is excluded. Also, each benefit can only be used once per Porto Card – you can only visit each attraction once with the Porto Card.
For families: Since there are no children's discounts, each family member (including toddlers) needs their own Porto Card. For larger groups (20+ people) there is however a 10% discount on the total price.
